Getting sales appointments

In reading a Sales book I found an interesting set of success statistics related to persistence, pulled from a study by the National Sales Executive Association:

• 2% of sales are made on the first contact
• 3% of sales are made on the second contact
• 5% of sales are made on the third contact
• 10% of sales are made on the fourth contact
• 80% of sales are made on the fifth through
12th contact

So don’t give up just because your second, third,
or fourth attempt goes unanswered. Persistence
wins appointments.
