I published my first picture book called Two Giraffes. The inspiration for writing and illustrating this piece came during a complicated relationship.
I was deeply in love, and she loved giraffes. I dedicate this book to her. I have learned that you must write what you know as a writer. Do not craft a story unless you are emotionally invested in the idea and story.
Some of the best stories are almost always based on true events. This story is no different. It tells the tale of two young giraffes who stumbled upon love. Then the obstacles that needed to be overcome in that relationship.
