Get your product in the hands of those who can take it to a greater audience.

Who can take your product and make it available everywhere?

Similar to the influencer strategy, distribution will take time. Make a list of who to go to. Get a deal to carry your product. Keep knocking on doors. Find the list of partners who work with the distributors to see if you can get a referral. Increase your chances of a response by building the branch of relationships now.

Find a tech startup app that pairs nicely with your product. Get on that app. For example, putting your product on Kickstarter is a great way to validate and distribute your product.

If you’re selling a digital product, make a list of the platforms and partner integrations that will help leverage your existence. If you aren’t on Amazon, get on Amazon.

Amp It #4: Influencers

Reach out to the leaders in your niche to get your product promotion prowess on.

You’ll see YouTube and social media influencers (experts / gurus) all over the Internet. These influencers are the pathway to enormous awareness for your brand, as they have a large following in the thousands and millions.

Reach out to the influencers in your industry and ask if they’d be interested in a co-partnership or cross-promotion. Offer them some of your products for free in exchange for a quick plug. Do whatever it takes to get them talking about you. Follow them, subscribe to their blogs, comment on their articles, guest post for them.

Become a kind, persistent stalker and eventually they will listen to you. They are ignoring you at the beginning because you can imagine how many one-off requests they receive.

This tactic takes time. Influencers are busy. Do something creative to get their attention – free swag helps. Befriend them on social media to improve your chances. You may get rejected a thousand times before you get a response. All it takes is one influencer endorsement to amplify your business name. Befriend, engage, stick with it.

Start giving back by writing for others – the best way to build web traffic quickly when you’re starting out.

I like to find 100 top blogs in my niche to contact. Finding an email can be a challenge if it doesn’t appear on the Contact page. As an alternative, consider reaching out on Twitter or another social media platform.

Here is a script I use to reach out to bloggers in my niche:

Subject Line: Brilliant Guest Posts

Hey [Blogger name],

Love your site. Noticed you write a lot about [subject]. I recently wrote a post for [Name of blog] that generated numerous social shares.

I have a few guest post ideas I’d love to share with you:

[Headline 1]

I will send over a finished post if any of these stand out to you?

Cheers,
Trev
